And with that lovely brightness streaming in through our windows, we can finally see the clutter that we might have ignored all winter — the dust on our bookshelves, the mess in our closets, the weight in our hearts, and the limiting beliefs that are holding us back from living our best lives.

Spring is the perfect time to renew your self-care rituals and start loving yourself in a more gentle and compassionate way. As this light shines on us, we have the perfect opportunity to clearly evaluate what’s not working in our lives.


You know that gentle tugging on your consciousness, that tender-hearted whisper in your ear, that flutter in your belly? That’s a new dream trying to get your attention.


It’s time to get clear on your big visions, cleanse your inner and outer world, and uplift your energies by letting go of what no longer serves you. It’s time to renew your spirits, clear out the clutter, and set the intention of welcoming in new dreams with inspired action!


Here are 6 simple ways to cleanse and clear your emotional energy, physical body, and home space to bring more joy, self-love, and happiness into your life.


1. Update your vision board


The first step is getting a bit of introspection. Reflect on your 2019 goals and New Year’s resolutions. Has anything changed? The goals we set in January can evolve and transform by April, so there is no shame if your plans have not quite unfolded the way you thought.

Release any judgment and guilt you feel, and let’s set an intention to create a new vision that will carry you into the sunshine! What do you want to do with the rest of your year? How do you want to feel? Map it all out in a Pinterest board or create a collage and stick it to your wall. Be gentle and kind to yourself when you’re setting new goals.



2. Declutter your space


One of the simplest and most effective ways to cleanse is by decluttering your home. More space means feeling more organized and this, in turn, leaves room for more joy and love — yes, please!


Let go of old clothing, books, and kitchen appliances that you no longer use or love. Sort your clutter into categories and decide whether items need to be thrown out, sold or donated to charity.

3. Clean up your digital devices


Because we can’t physically see the amount of clutter stored on our computers and phones it’s easy to neglect them. For example, when was the last time you changed your wallpaper to something inspiring?


Here are a few ways to clean up your tech:

  • Delete all the apps and photos you no longer need.

  • Sort through your contacts to remove old, outdated numbers.

  • Organize the folders on your computer.

  • Update your programs and apps (finally!).

  • Wipe away the dust on your keyboard, monitor, and desk.

  • Unfollow social media accounts that amplify negative thoughts.


4. Switch over your wardrobe


Put away your jumpers, jackets, and boots, and bring out your lighter clothing. Think about what key pieces you’ll need for the months ahead and what you’re missing from your closet.


Do you feel like your style still suits your personality? Does your clothing bring you joy or make you feel bad about the way you look? If your spring/summer options only bring negativity to your day, then it’s time for a closet refresh. 5. Shed the winter dullness


You know that shell that holds your spirit, your “birthday suit,” your beautiful temple? Well, it needs just as much love and attention as your mind and personal space!

Do something that makes you feel cleaner, lighter, and more radiant. Whether that’s indulging in a lush botanical facial at the spa, treating yourself to a new haircut, or simply carving out 15 minutes to trim and paint your nails. You could give dry body brushing a go, enjoy a soak in the tub, or make your own DIY sugar scrub.




6. Cleanse your body


Spring is the perfect chance to clean out your body the way you do your closet. In fact, spring cleanses and spring tonics are age-old traditions. Try eating more greens, drinking more water, fresh juices, and herbal teas.


Reducing heavy, toxic foods, including fried foods, saturated fats, dairy, sugar, soda, and alcohol will help you feel lighter, strengthen your immune system, and boost your energy.
